A TTPS visa allows high-achieving professionals to live and work in Hong Kong without securing a job offer at the time of application. Applicants apply under one of three categories and are normally granted an initial stay of 36 months for Category A or 24 months for Categories B and C. Successful applicants receive time limitation only with no other conditions of stay, which means they may take up employment or establish a business.
Who can apply
- Category A. Individuals with annual income of HKD 2.5 million or above in the year immediately before applying.
- Category B. Degree graduates from the aggregate list of eligible universities with at least three years of work experience over the past five years.
- Category C. Degree graduates from the eligible universities list who graduated within the past five years and have less than three years of work experience. This category is subject to an annual quota on a first-come, first-served basis.
TTPS does not apply to nationals of Afghanistan, Cuba or the DPRK. Overseas Chinese holding PRC passports may apply if they meet the criteria and have overseas permanent residence, or they have resided overseas for at least one year immediately before applying and submit the application from overseas.
Dependants
TTPS entrants may sponsor a spouse or a legally and officially recognised partner, including certain same-sex or opposite-sex civil partnerships and civil unions entered into overseas, and unmarried dependent children under 18. Dependants are normally granted the same limit of stay as the sponsor and are not prohibited from taking up employment or studies.
